PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO “UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE” SESSION ON JANUARY 1 – NEW YEAR’S DAY.
“Understanding the Bible” will resume on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
How Unitarian Universalists respond to the Bible is a lot like the popular Facebook relationship status – “it’s complicated.” Some warmly embrace it and many are curious, while others are indifferent or react negatively towards it. Whatever our view, the Bible remains an influential source of religion and ethics, so a basic familiarity with its nature and contents is useful in understanding our religious neighbours – and may even help us better understand ourselves.
Join Rev. Stefan Jonasson for “Understanding the Bible” on Wednesday, November 6, in the Living Room, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Based on the work of Rev. John A. Buehrens, who was president of the Unitarian Universalist Association from 1993 to 2001, while drawing upon additional sources, this introduction to the Bible for skeptics, seekers, and religious liberals will continue on the first Wednesday of each month until June.
