Occasions for Blessing

“No matter what one believes in, there is something wonderful about blessing things,” asserts Kathleen Norris. The lay chaplaincy among Unitarian Universalists in Canada is a distinctive office that authorizes select lay leaders to conduct rites of passage on behalf of our congregations and the liberal religious tradition. It has become an essential part of our shared ministry to one another and the larger community beyond our walls. At its heart, the lay chaplaincy is about blessing life’s passages with a ministry of presence, empathy, and hope.

With upcoming Lay Chaplain, Christina Swindells-Nader.
