“A life spent making mistakes is not only more honourable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing,” quipped George Bernard Shaw. Well, few of us set out to make mistakes intentionally, and they may not feel quite as useful while we’re making them as they do in hindsight, but they are inescapable. If they’re not catastrophic or harmful, we can learn from our mistakes, and sometimes from the mistakes of others, growing in the process. Indeed, a mistake or two may even prove to be the source of our deepest satisfactions, which may lead us to wonder if they were really mistakes in the first place, or simply milestones on the path of life.
The Choir will sing.
