Our October Share the Plate Partner

50% of our non-pledge Sunday offering in October will be donated to
Rainbow Resource Centre.

Our Share the Plate partner for October is the Rainbow Resource Centre. Their mission is to nurture inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ (TwoSpirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning) communities to thrive. Rainbow Resource Centre offers support to the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the form of counselling, education, and programming for individuals ranging from children through to 55+. It also supports families, friends, and employers of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.

Rainbow Resource Centre is now fundraising for Phase 2 of building Place of Pride, which will be the first 2SLGBTQ+ campus in Canada. The Rainbow Resource Centre has a wonderful video about this initiative. Please check it out at https://rainbowresourcecentre.org/place-ofpride. Place of Pride is a $20 million project that includes new spaces for counselling, programming, community, and 55+ housing at 545 Broadway,in central Winnipeg. Phase 1 created 21 units of deeply affordable housing for 2SLGBTQ+ older adults. That phase is complete, and the first residents were welcomed in September 2024.

The accessible campus is made up of three buildings and outdoor spaces. Place of Pride takes Rainbow Resource Centre from 2,000 sf to 12,000 sf of programming and community space. This means thousands more people and their families – at all ages and stages of life – will have the resources to thrive.

A member of the congregation will share their positive experience with Rainbow Resource Centre at either the October 5th or 12th service.
