Notice of Upcoming Elders Gathering October 23

Calling all Elders

Come join us for our October Gathering on Wednesday, October 23 from 12:30 - 2:30 In the Church Sanctuary.

What does it mean to be ‘independent’? How can I ask for assistance? When is help not helpful? Most of us highly value our capacity as to act independently and to make our own choices.

We will be sharing strategies and insights, exploring questions, and learning new information about how to handle some of the challenges we encounter. How can we get the support we need and, at the same time, continue to make choices and remain as independent as possible? Come find out!

These questions go beyond theory: they are very near and dear to all of us. Carolyn Hill-Carroll will facilitate a focused discussion on this topic. Carolyn, a long-time member of our Church, has recently retired from Public Health Nursing and become a ‘Senior Citizen’ herself. She and her family are actively involved in advocating for an elderly family member who experienced a health crisis. She has a wealth of helpful information!

Some light snacks and refreshments will be provided. As many have dietary restrictions, please bring your own light lunch or, if you prefer, have something to eat before you come. You can also bring something to share, but only if you wish.

Come as you are! Bring your family, bring your friend or come on your own. We promise you a welcoming atmosphere, good conversations and a very good time. As always, there will be ample time for socializing – connecting in small groups and one-on-one.
