Reconciliation Reading

This fall, join us for two book discussions. On September 29th at noon in the living room we will discuss “21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act” by Bob Joseph.

Choir

All are welcome to join our choir. Rehearsals are every Thursday, 7:30 to 9 pm, in the church sanctuary. Please let Debby Lake (choir librarian) know if you plan to join–she’ll have a binder of music ready for you! debby.lake.mb@gmail.com

Covenant Groups

Covenant Groups meet once a month, starting in October. They are a great way to connect deeply with others. In these small groups we practice deep listening. A trained facilitor offers up questions around a topic for members to think about. Group members then respond one by one with what the question means or brings up for them. There is no responding to other members comments, just deep listening. Everything said in the group is kept confidential.  Still not quite sure what Covenant Groups are? Humanist Forums

The UU Humanist Forums are offered at 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of each month in the sanctuary. These forums provide humanist perspectives on various thought-provoking topics which foster open-minded discussions and intellectual exploration, encouraging critical thinking and reflection. Science Fiction Book Club

Join us on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the church living room.  We generally read one book each month and discuss it in the next meeting.  Books are selected by the members.  Members lead the discussion of the book they pick.  Questions? email Carolyn Hill-Carroll at chillcarroll@gmail.com

Scrabblers Unite!

APC will host a Scrabble drop-in on the 3rd Tuesday afternoon each month (1:30-3:00) in the sanctuary. All are welcome. Bring a Scrabble game if you have one. Mark your calendars for September 17, October 15, November 12. Questions? email adultprograms@uuwinnipeg.mb.ca

Writers’ Groups

The format for the groups comes largely from Peter Elbow’s “Writing Without Teachers.” Each member presents their writing and the other members respond in a positive and helpful manner. Contact John Burstow at jburstow@shaw.ca If you are interested. There are often waitlists for both groups.

Yarn Works

If you like to weave, knit, crochet, sew, or do any other fiber based craft, join this Fiber Arts group on alternating Sundays following the service in the Sunroom, beginning October 27. We’ll share our current projects, our failures and successes, and learn from each other.
