The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg aims for the highest level of conformance with the accessibility standards set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). This guideline explains how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, and is used by the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) which specifies that WCAG 2.1 be used as a standard for electronic documents, websites, and communications.
Our web team assesses the accessibility of our home page and other representative pages, with special attention to site-wide features such as navigation, headers, and footers.
Other staff and volunteers are responsible for the content of individual pages, documents, and media.
Feedback is not only welcome but encouraged! Please contact us with suggestions for improvement or to alert us to a particular problem area.
We are using a WordPress theme from the UUA which has been developed specifically for accessibility.
We are in the process of assessing our website for accessibility in particular areas as they relate to WCAG 2.0/2.1 A/AA. We will post a summary of our website accessibility on this page in the coming months.
