The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg is searching for an innovative, creative Coordinator of Lifespan Faith Development to join our team and move our program in an exciting new direction!
Purpose: To develop, resource, and manage a comprehensive, strategic, and stimulating ages 35 and under to engage our faith community, consistent with the principles of Unitarian Universalism as well as the mission, values, and purposes of the First UU Church of Winnipeg.
Position Description
Title: Coordinator of Lifespan Faith Development
Reports to: Minister
Contract: 10 month contract, with possibility of extension.
Salary Range: $25,000-30,000 commensurate with experience
Professional Development: Budgeted training & professional membership paid by us
About First UU of Winnipeg
We are a Welcoming, healthy, social justice oriented, fiscally solvent congregation of 200 members, 25 children, and 10 youth, with a history of robust support for family programming. Our religious educator of 15+ years retired and this is our opportunity to take family ministry in a bold, new direction! The congregation’s vision is to engage in all ages Sunday morning services followed by various activities designed to appeal to a range of abilities, ages, and interests.
Overview
The Coordinator of Lifespan Faith Development CFLD) will collaborate with the Religious Exploration Committee in the development and administration of the children/youth phase of the Lifespan Faith Development program.
The CFLD will work with the congregation to oversee the building of the children and youth phase of the Lifespan Faith Development (LFD) program.
The CFLD works with the congregation to facilitate a faith development program respecting the congregation’s needs and resources. This includes:
- Supporting the RE Committee in delivering religious exploration (RE) programming religious exploration for children
- Revitalizing our Youth Group
Requirements: Applicants must meet any and all applicable legal requirements and church guidelines for working with children and youth and must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
Qualifications:
- Program coordination / leadership experience and/or early years education and/or teaching background
- Welcoming & respectful orientation to all people regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, economic status, or ethnicity. Employs an anti-racist, anti-oppression, and multicultural lens.
- This position requires physical mobility to manage stairs and lift maximum of 50 lbs. If adaptive accommodation is needed we encourage this discussion.
This program will operate onsite at the church Church attendance for most activities. The church address is 603 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg MB.
