One of Unitarian Universalists’ services to our wider community is to help people design and create Ceremonies of Significance for the milestones in their lives. Weddings, memorials, child dedications (a ceremony similar to but not a traditional baptism), glitter blessings for Pride or gender transition, divorce rituals, healing rites: at this significant, sacred moment in your life, the only limit is your imagination.

If you’re not a member of our congregation and are looking for a progressive, welcoming officiant, we elect Lay Chaplains to serve the greater community. Lay Chaplains are fully supported by their congregation and the Canadian Unitarian Council. Christina loves naming and celebrating interconnection and the threads binding us in community. She is proud to support 2SLGBTQQIA+* and interfaith families, and honoured to support the moments that change families with a ceremony that reflects your journey and your story.

From extensive training and experience in ritual design and performing officiant duties, Christina can work with you to design and create a wedding ceremony or other rite of passage that:

• is welcoming, inclusive, and authentic
• manifests your values and principles
• incorporates cultural traditions that are meaningful to you
• supports your family dynamics and meaningfully involves children or other loved ones
• meets your ritual and spiritual needs, whether you are an interfaith or multifaith family, deeply religious, agnostic, spiritual but not religious, humanist, or a mix of any of these

Standard Fees:

• Celebrations of Life, Funerals, and Memorials: $300
• Weddings (rehearsal included, size-dependent): $300-600
• All Other Ceremonies: from $200

Travel within Winnipeg is included in these fees. As Unitarian Universalists, we believe that everyone has a right to a rite, that spiritual growth and community ritual should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstance. These fees are sliding scale, reflecting our commitment to equity, interdependence, and shared care.
