- The Art of Dying Well: A Practical Guide to a Good End of Life by Katy Butler. This book has been described as a down-to-earth manual for living, aging, and dying with meaning and even joy. It is based on Butler’s own experience caring for aging parents, as well as interviews with many other people. The discussion will be facilitated by Sonya Watson.
- A Way of Letting Go: One Woman’s Walk toward Forgiveness, by Wilma Derksen. Derksen’s daughter Candace was murdered here in Winnipeg in 1984, and she shares her experiences and ideas about how letting go of some of the misconceptions about grief can finally lead to hope and healing. The discussion of this book will be led by Jill Moats.
- Napkin Notes: Make Lunch Meaningful, Life Will Follow, by Garth Callaghan. Callaghan had always left little notes in his daughter’s lunch box. When he learned he had kidney cancer he compiled years’ worth of notes for her. In this inspirational memoir, he shares his story that may help us deepen our own relationships. This discussion will be facilitated by Gordon Clark.
